Adopt Functional Nutrition and Holistic Practices

I experienced a significant shift in my health after making lifestyle changes to control type 2 diabetes. One of the most impactful practices I incorporated was functional nutrition, focusing on whole, unprocessed foods, reducing sugar, and significantly lowering my carbohydrate intake to stabilize blood sugar. Alongside this, I integrated reflexology and acupressure, which helped improve circulation and support overall metabolic function. Breathwork and aromatherapy also played a role in managing stress, which is crucial for blood sugar regulation. By adopting these holistic approaches, I not only reversed my diabetes but also saw improvements in my energy levels, mental clarity, and overall well-being. It was a transformative journey that reinforced my belief in the power of natural healing.

Discover Breakthrough Through Yoga and Body Image

When I was in treatment for anorexia, I wasn't fully engaged in my recovery because I didn't truly want to get better. Anorexia can be insidious because it's ego-syntonic, meaning the person struggling doesn't see the need to change, and the symptoms only reinforce themselves. One day in treatment, we had a yoga and body image class. I vividly remember getting into Warrior II pose and having a breakthrough moment: "I don't have to hate my body anymore." At that moment, I also became aware of my muscles—something I had never really noticed before, as I had spent so many years disconnected from my body. Tears began to fall. By the end of the class, I felt a deep sense of determination to put effort into recovery and share this experience with others. The next day after graduating from treatment, I began yoga teacher training and committed myself to continued recovery.

Transform Energy and Resilience with Cold Therapy

A few years ago, I started incorporating cold exposure therapy into my routine-mainly cold showers and occasional ice baths, and it completely transformed my energy levels, recovery, and mental resilience. At first, it was brutal (I won't lie!), but after a couple of weeks, I noticed a significant shift. My body adapted, and I started feeling more awake, focused, and surprisingly calm, even in stressful situations.

The biggest change? My recovery time after workouts improved dramatically, especially from Muay Thai training. Soreness that used to linger for days now faded much faster, and my immune system felt stronger-I hardly ever got sick. Plus, the mental challenge of enduring the cold helped build discipline and resilience in other areas of life. What started as a simple experiment became a daily ritual that still benefits me today!

Heal Through Conscious Connected Breathing

A few years ago, I experienced a significant shift in my well-being after incorporating breathwork-specifically conscious connected breathing-into my routine. At the time, I was carrying a lot of stress and emotional heaviness, and traditional self-care practices weren't making a real difference.

The first time I did a guided breathwork session, I didn't expect much. But as I surrendered to the process, something shifted. My body tingled, my mind quieted, and emotions I hadn't even realized I was holding onto started surfacing. By the end of the session, I felt lighter, more at peace, and deeply connected to myself in a way I hadn't felt in years.

Over time, breathwork became a key part of my healing. It helped me release emotional blocks, reduce anxiety, and find clarity in moments of uncertainty. It wasn't just about deep breathing-it was about releasing what no longer served me and making space for something new.

Practice Daily Kundalini Yoga Meditation

Totally! Most recently it has been meditation through Kundalini Yoga. I often recommend yoga and meditation practices to my patients but lately I was in need. I have practiced every day for 30 days and it has made a huge difference!

Experience Detoxification with Coffee Enemas

One of the biggest shifts in my health came when I started incorporating coffee enemas into my routine. While this probably sounds a little weird, coffee enemas have been used for decades in functional and alternative medicine circles to support detoxification, improve liver function, and enhance overall well-being.

When I first tried coffee enemas, I was struggling with sluggish digestion, brain fog, and overall fatigue. I have a few autoimmune disorders. I had already made lots of changes to my diet and lifestyle, but I felt like my body needed an extra push in detoxification and figured what's the harm in trying. After doing coffee enemas consistently for a few weeks, I noticed an enormous boost in my energy levels, clearer thinking, and a drastic improvement in digestion. The most surprising part was how much lighter I felt—both physically and mentally.

I was hooked, so I did some significant deep dives into the research. The reason coffee enemas can be so transformative is that they stimulate the vagus nerve and liver detox pathways, helping the body flush out toxins more efficiently. The caffeine in the enema doesn't act like a typical stimulant; instead, it encourages the liver to produce more glutathione, the body's master antioxidant, which aids in deep detoxification.

Beyond the physical benefits, coffee enemas also had a noticeable impact on my mental clarity and mood. I felt calmer, more focused, and better able to handle stress—likely due to their effect on the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes relaxation and nervous system regulation.

For anyone looking for a natural way to support their liver, reduce toxic load, and increase energy, coffee enemas are worth considering. They're simple, inexpensive, and provide a level of detox support that can be hard to achieve through diet alone. I highly recommend!

Heal Lyme Disease with Kambo Medicine

Living with undiagnosed Lyme disease is like being trapped in a body that's slowly betraying you. Before discovering Kambo, my daily reality was a complex web of debilitating symptoms that medical professionals struggled to connect. Beyond the chronic pain that dominated my life, I experienced:

Severe joint inflammation

Persistent brain fog that affected my ability to focus or find simple words

Crushing fatigue that no amount of rest could remedy

Unexplained neurological symptoms including tingling and numbness

Digestive issues that seemed to worsen regardless of dietary changes

Night sweats and irregular sleep patterns

Muscle weakness and tremors

Recurring low-grade fevers

Severe light and sound sensitivity

These symptoms created a cascade effect, each one amplifying the others, making diagnosis even more challenging. Traditional medical tests often came back "normal," leading to frustration and a sense of hopelessness.

That's when I discovered Kambo, an ancient Amazonian medicine derived from the Giant Monkey Tree Frog's secretions.

My first Kambo session was nothing short of miraculous. As the medicine entered through small points on my skin, I experienced the intense cleansing process that Kambo is known for. But what happened next left me in awe - I found myself rubbing my knees, suddenly realizing something profound: the pain that I had for two decades was simply... gone.

Encouraged by these immediate results, I scheduled another session days later. What followed was the most intense healing experience of my life. For seven straight days, my body underwent a deep, systematic purge. The process was so intense that I needed daily IV fluids to maintain hydration. I was homebound, watching as my body released what appeared to be parasites and long-held toxins. This wasn't just a temporary fix; it was a complete reset of my system.

Today, my life is unrecognizable from those pain-filled years. What used to be daily pain levels of 6-7 now only appear perhaps once or twice a year. The brain fog has lifted, the inflammation has subsided, and I've reclaimed a vibrant, symptom-free life.

The most valuable lesson from my journey: the most powerful healing comes from being open to unconventional solutions and trusting in the wisdom of traditional medicines. While Kambo may not be for everyone, my experience demonstrates the importance of remaining open to alternative healing paths when conventional methods fall short.

Manage Anxiety with Alternative Methods

A few years ago I struggled with anxiety during a period of major life change and stress. I tried a popular prescription drug which provided temporary relief for 30-60 minutes. Then the effects were overwhelming - almost crippling! So I tried several alternative methods with the help of a therapist to do quick "resets" when I felt anxiety coming on.

Many were simple things. What worked for the therapist often did not work for me. But I experimented until I found things that DID work. For example, slowing my breathing and holding air in for say 7 seconds then slowly blowing out & repeating the cycle for 2-3 minutes worked well to slow things down. Listening to calming or even popular music worked wonders for me.

Going for a short 10-20 minute walk or doing a quick indoor physical activity like jumping jacks helped. Sometimes just stopping, grounding my feet, and doing simple counting exercises provided a "quick" 1-2 minute "reset" to get me through.

In the end I still use these alternative methods today. Medication is now a last resort in any type of health issue I may experience moving forward.
